A BIG TOUCH OF LUXE…
About CORALONE
THE PAST CAN TEACH US SO MUCH...
Where we have been and what we are doing leads us to where we are going, there cannot be a clear path, one without the other. Our creativity can be a beacon providing a focused lead to total vision. Creative or cognitive vision.
Innovation is a major part of total vision. In fashion we aim to continue to innovate fashion by understanding the business and art of fashion as well as client experiences with the overall design outcome (garment/accessory/fragrance). Innovation will continue to occur if we continually research and dissect the client experience through their feedback.
coralONE was created in 2014 by fashion design professional MJ. Armed with a Masters of Fashion, she set out to created exciting physical manifestations of her internal design creativity. coralONE is all about passionate fashion, encouraging creativity through physical artistic expression (product), research, understanding and giving back through events and social initiatives. To achieve longevity in this industry we have to understand each component. Focusing on how they work together is optimal.
Blogging, designing, procuring, charity, we are an emerging multi-faceted fashion company. It's more than just clothes...
Always Do you!
Born in L.A. and raised in the Southern Capital of Atlanta, MJ grew to love fashion at a very young age. Her mother was always very fashionable and appreciated the importance of finding a "good" shoe or dress, teaching her to value luxe materials and strong construction. While in elementary and high school, MJ began designing ultramodern looks from her everyday clothes and her mother’s vintage wears, this began developing her love of clothes. MJ attended magnet schools for high achieving academics, math, science and technology and grew to love the sciences very much. Her love for science and animals led her parents to believe she would be a natural as a veterinarian. MJ attended Savannah State and Clayton State Universities to achieve her Bachelor of Science degree which solidified, she was no vet. Her love of animals and science was real however, a career in medicine was not for her.
With her life at a crossroads after achieving her undergraduate degree, MJ had to figure out what she wanted to do, what career to pursue. She loved fashion but knew nothing about a career, she just knew she always loved clothes. Her love of shopping (even just to browse), reading VOGUE and learning about designers led her to organically emerging as a designer with the impulse purchase of a used sewing machine, fabric and store bought patterns. She taught herself to sew and began to learn what “fashion” was. It was a business, it was more than clothes, she had to learn more. MJ entered The Academy of Art and achieved her Master of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising. Her time in the program was exhilarating, learning about fashion history, construction, marketing and best of all attending New York fashion week each season. Also during this time, she became very active in fashion, starting a blog (Check the Runway), becoming active in the Atlanta fashion scene and participating in fashion shows, competitions and joining Fashion Group International. This opened up so much for her which lead her me create coralONE, dedicated to her love of all things fashion through women’s wear collections prendre-tout atelier and The EmJha Collection.
